When does my license expire?
A Missouri license shall be renewed biennially by July 31 of even numbered years. The board shall mail a notice to each person licensed during the preceding licensing period at least thirty calendar days prior to the expiration date of the license. Each respiratory care practitioner shall provide the board with a completed renewal form issued by the board that shall contain updated information since the preceding application/renewal period and verification of completion of the required continuing education hours pursuant to rules promulgated by the board.
When can I renew my license?
The Missouri Board for Respiratory Care (MBRC) will mail a notice to each person licensed during the preceding licensing period at least 30 calendar days prior to the expiration of the license.
How do I renew my license?
To renew your license, you will need to use your Online PIN and License Number that was provided on the postcard the MBRC sent.
How many CEUs does Missouri require?
12 hours of our Real-Time Live Broadcast Courses plus 12 hours of our Self-Directed Courses.
Respiratory care practitioners need to complete at least 24 credits/hours of continuing education every 24 months. The continuing education reporting period is the twenty-four (24)-month period beginning on August 1 of even numbered years and ending on July 31 of even numbered years. Continuing education hours earned after July 31 shall apply to the next continuing education reporting period. A certificate holder must report during registration if she or he has completed the required continuing education during the previous two years (biennial registration period).
According to the MBRC, at least 12 contact hours must be in traditional courses. “Traditional educational programs are those programs, attended either in person or attended remotely, by the use of telecommunication technology, where the presentation is “live,” and where the attendee can interact with and ask questions of the presenter during the presentation. Non-traditional programs are those approved programs that include a testing mechanism, not presented “live” where the attendee is not able to interact with and ask questions of the presenter during the presentation.” You may obtain either all or (at a minimum) 12 of your traditional CEUs (no tests required) by attending our Real-Time Live Broadcast Courses. The remaining 12 CEUs you need may be acquired by taking our non-traditional Self-Directed courses (available 24/7).
Can I get all of my CEUs online?
