- Discuss current data supporting use of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) post-extubation in high risk patients.
- Review clinical outcomes that are improved by NIV.
Explain current data supporting use of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) post-extubation in low to high risk patients. - Summarize evidence for NIV + HFNC vs. HFNC post-extubation & current data.
