Course Objectives
- Describe the pathophysiology of traumatic injury, including hemorrhagic shock & the impact of impaired perfusion on oxygen delivery & utilization.
- Identify priorities in trauma resuscitation, emphasizing hemorrhage control, airway management, & ventilatory support based on current battlefield & civilian trauma practices.
- Explain the components of the lethal triad (coagulopathy, acidosis, & hypothermia) & their implications for respiratory care, mechanical ventilation, & overall trauma management.
